How to Use This Site

This site is organized into divisions by audience, meaning that links and stories specifically tailored for a certain audience are all assembled in one place. If you're a staff member, use the "Staff" page as your jumping-off point. Community member? Parent? Student? Same idea. Bookmark those pages and we'll keep the links and stories up to date for you.

You'll notice on those "audience home pages" that you have a search box in the upper-right corner... if you don't find the things you need by following site links, just type in your search term and click go. Chances are that you'll find what you're looking for in the resulting list.

You'll find links in the left sidebar throughout the site which have been placed there to help you move from section to section easily. On those "audience home pages" we mentioned earlier, you'll also find current events from our district calendar, local headlines from our partners at The Elkhart Truth, and local weather conditions. These are updated daily, althought the weather is updated several times per day. Indiana weather being what it is, you might look at the time stamp on the weather before you make any important decisions based on what you see. You can always click on the "more" link to get real-time reports from the weather channel online.

You'll notice a section called "online newsletter" in the sidebar. This is a link to our monthly online newsletter, ElkhartWINS, which contains stories about the accomplishments of our students and staff members, and our innovative academic and extra-curricular programs. You can subscribe to that newsletter, by the way. Just follow the link on the "home" page.

Below the link to our newsletter is one to our print magazine, which is published in the fall and the spring and distributed to more than 25,000 households in the ECS school district. Like ElkhartWINS, the magazine shares the good things that are happening in Elkhart Community Schools.
