College and Career Readiness

High school students engage in a hands-on electrical lab, connecting wires and testing circuits at blue AC/DC electrical systems stations.

An education at Elkhart Community Schools begins with developing a love of reading, writing, and math. As students build foundational skills, their learning expands to include technology, history, world languages, science, and career exploration. With a broad academic base through elementary and middle school, students are prepared to identify and pursue areas of interest in high school through Elkhart High School and the six Schools of Study.

Located on the same campus as Elkhart High School, the Elkhart Area Career Center (EACC) takes students further into future-focused learning through more than 30 career-based programs. Each program offers industry certifications or college credits at little to no cost.

At both EHS and EACC, students can earn college credits through Early College programs and dual credit courses.

On average, ECS students earn more than 10,000 college credits each year. More than $10.6 million in college credits have been earned by EHS students at no cost to ECS families.

The list of available courses continues to evolve as student and community needs change.
