What is the Young Adult Program?
Elkhart Community Schools’ Young Adult Program serves individuals ages 18 to 22 with disabilities and extends traditional Special Education services beyond high school.
The program focuses on developing essential life and workplace skills. Students gain experience in cooking, cleaning, self-care, and organization. Through hands-on experiences—such as running the Hart City Coffee Company and collaborating with local businesses—students also build employment skills like sorting, labeling, order fulfillment, and delivery.
