Every school day, Elkhart Community Schools safely transports over 10,000 students on more than 100 buses. But no matter how big our system gets, two things will always matter most:

  1. Safety comes first. Nothing matters more than making sure every child gets to and from school safely. We know that delays and cancellations can be frustrating — but we hope you’ll understand that we never take chances when it comes to your child’s safety. We treat them like our own.
  2. Bus drivers make a difference. For many students, their bus driver is the first adult they see each morning and the last one they see at the end of the day. Our drivers care deeply about the students they transport — and our kids feel that care.

Families who are new to the district should complete online registration first. Once completed, contact the Transportation Department at 574-262-5695.

Address Changes

Have you moved and need to change your child’s transportation? First, be sure to update your information in PowerSchool. If you're unable to update your information in PowerSchool, please contact your child’s school to inform them of the move and request assistance with securing transportation. Changes may take 72 hours to get transportation in place.
