Applications are considered “in process” until fully submitted. ECS hiring teams may review your in-progress application, even if it’s not yet complete.

Once submitted, applications are reviewed by the ECS Human Resources team. Qualified candidates are advanced to the hiring manager, who will follow up to schedule an interview.

Substitute Teachers

Elkhart Community Schools is always seeking caring, qualified individuals to serve as substitute teachers. Once approved, substitutes can access available assignments through our system, choosing when and where they’d like to work. Substitute teachers may accept half-day or full-day assignments and have the flexibility to work as often as they’d like. The district maintains a pool of substitutes to fill in for teachers who are out for short- or long-term absences.
