Within the Communication Department at Elkhart Community Schools, you’ll find a team eager to assist families and staff with receiving important information from the district. This team is responsible for:

  • Assisting buildings with development of newsletters, flyers, and school websites
  • Assisting with district-wide special events and programs
  • Branding
  • District website
  • District-wide communication through all-calls, emails, and texts
  • ECS social media
  • Emergency notifications - closings, delays
  • Ensuring district messages are translated into Spanish
  • Flyer approval for distribution to school buildings
  • Media relations 
  • Non-emergency district-wide communication - important events, surveys
  • Production and delivery of news stories for internal and external audiences
  • Training school staff for maintenance of school websites and social media
