Food Services
At Elkhart Community Schools Food Services, we know that good nutrition and learning go hand in hand!
The Food Services department is made up of a team of food and nutrition professionals who are dedicated to students’ health, wellbeing and their ability to learn. We prepare nutritious meals that meet and exceed state and federal requirements based on USDA standards.
New USDA Guidelines and Meal Patterns
Meals, foods and beverages sold or served at schools meet state and federal requirements which are based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines. Ala carte items available for purchase meet USDA Smart Snack guidelines. We offer a variety of meal choices to appeal to students' tastes. We strive to make a positive environment and to know our students by name.
Through the implementation of the School Wellness Policy, Food Service creates an environment which supports healthy eating behaviors.
