Elkhart Area Career Center Students Sign Letters Of Intent To Return To ECS

14 Senior Education Professions students at the Elkhart Area Career Center (EACC) have announced their intent to one day return to Elkhart Community Schools to launch their education careers. This came during a recent Letter Of Intent signing ceremony held at the ECS Administration Building. Superintendent Dr. Larry Huff joined the students, representing the district's promise to hire these future educators upon the completion of their post-high school education. EACC representatives say the event highlighted the dedication and excellence of the Career Center's programs, as well as the outstanding students committed to returning to and serving their community as educators.

“Every year, I am incredibly impressed with the educators our Career Center programs produce,” says EACC Director Brandon Eakins. “Knowing that many of them will return right back to Elkhart Community Schools to serve students of all ages makes me very excited for the future of our district. I am confident that they will one day fulfill the Elkhart Promise of knowing their students by name, and working with them to ensure they are college and career ready.”

Students and staff at the event were all eager to thank Mrs. Andrea Holtz, the teacher behind the EACC education programs, for her hard work and dedication towards preparing the educators of tomorrow. Students who signed the letter of intent represented a wide variety of subject interest and preferred grades to one day teach.
