Michele A. Riise Named Next Elkhart Community Schools Superintendent

The Elkhart Community Schools Board of Trustees has approved Michele A. Riise as the district’s next Superintendent, effective July 1, 2026.

Ms. Riise brings more than 38 years of experience in public education and currently serves as the Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Schools. Throughout her career as a teacher, principal, central office administrator, and superintendent, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to student achievement, instructional excellence, and fiscal responsibility.

Her leadership is rooted in collaboration, data-driven decision-making, and a deep dedication to the Elkhart community. The Board is confident in her ability to lead ECS forward and looks forward to working with her in this new role.
