An Exciting Time For Elkhart Community Schools Music

The work doesn't stop over the summer for Elkhart Community Schools musicians! Several programs and achievements have happened over the past several weeks, which are making us very excited for another year of musical excellence ahead.

Middle School Band & Orchestra rehearsals are in full swing. Students are divided into sectionals based on their instrument of choice, working close with instructors on the basic performance and maintenance they need to know for success. This program runs through the end of the month, and will give these incoming 6th and 7th graders the tools they need to continue their path forward as ECS musicians.

We are also excited to see Band Camp start next week! If you drive past the 10-12 campus of Elkhart High School, there's a good chance you'll see the Pride Of Elkhart musicians running drills and rehearsals. Percussion students have already been hard at work to make sure their peers are provided with a solid rhythmic background. After such a great year last year, we're so excited to watch the Pride Of Elkhart succeed!

Finally, this evening, July 18th, at 6:55, the Gold Rush choir of Elkhart High School will be performing the National Anthem to kick off the Elkhart County 4H Fair. This comes after multiple statewide placements for the choir during the school year.
