Elkhart High School Recognizes Winners Of Catherine Wolf & Tim Bringle Awards

This week, Elkhart Community Schools unveiled the winners of the 2024-25 Catherine Wolf and Tim Bringle Awards: Elizabeth Higgins and Max Malloy respectively. The awards are designated to honor male and female athletes who exemplify leadership and excellence both in and out of competition.

ELIZABETH BIO:

Elizabeth is a multi-sport athlete who keeps busy all year round, making notable contributions to the golf, basketball, and track teams. It's not just her athletic accomplishments that make her a standout member of our ECS family - it's also her commitment to academics and her community. She assisted in youth summer programs for volleyball, basketball. Elizabeth also held an internship with the South Bend Cubs this school year, engaging with both athletic training and front office management. She currently works with our partners at Beacon Health as a lifeguard. In the fall, she will attend Grand Valley State University, where she will pursue a degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ultrasound).

MAX BIO:

An outstanding multisport athlete, Max has made his mark in the history of Elkhart High School Athletics. He is a two-time NIC MVP in cross country and made the conference's 1st team all 4 years of high school. In the 2024-25 season, he served as the captain of the swim team. In track, he holds multiple school records and regularly places in sectional, regional, and state competition. All of his coaches describe him as an incredibly driven leader who helps foster excellence not just within himself, but for all of his teammates as well. Outside of athletics, he holds a weighted GPA of 4.485 and is active in Rotary Interact Club and Startup Moxie Elkhart County. In the fall, Max will attend Belmont University to pursue a double major in accounting and finance. He also plans to join Belmont's cross country and track teams.
