Middle Schools Hold Career Learning

This week, multiple projects have been held to help our ECS middle schoolers get excited about their future careers.

Yesterday, students at West Side Middle School had the opportunity to travel to several local manufacturing plants for Manufacturing Day. These are photos of the group that went to a Lippert facility. The trip included tours, design challenges, and staff-led lessons about production and distribution. Thank you to Lippert, as well as our other community partners at Godfrey Marine and Poly Electronics!

Staff from the Elkhart Area Career Center visited students at North Side Middle School to help them take a survey to hone in on potential career interests. After landing on their favorites, students went into virtual reality to play simulations (ie, handling a firehose, organizing papers to manage legal caseloads, etc). The kids loved it, and they certainly walked away excited about opportunities ahead of them.
