Superintendent
Elkhart Community Schools proudly welcomes Dr. Larry A. Huff, who began serving as superintendent on March 1, 2024. Dr. Huff succeeded interim superintendent Mark Mow, who assisted with the transition through June 2024. Dr. Huff is a former teacher and principal with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Indianapolis, a master’s degree from Marian University in Indianapolis, and is a graduate of the Indiana Aspiring Superintendent Academy. He earned his doctoral degree from Oakland City University with a focus on school superintendency in December 2020. He is certified in Crisis Prevention Intervention and is a three-time recipient of the Pike Superintendent’s Above and Beyond Award.
As Chief Academic Officer, Dr. Huff provided district-wide leadership for all aspects of teaching and learning for the Metropolitan School District of Pike Township near Indianapolis. During his time in Pike Township, the district experienced increased student performance in IREAD-3 and ILEARN student achievement. Additionally, the graduation rate rose to 96.2% for the 2022–23 school year.
Dr. Huff has driven success by developing academic vision, overseeing curriculum, supporting faculty professional development, analyzing data, and ensuring compliance. He has worked closely with all departments to support principals and teachers in strengthening instructional leadership.
Please join us in continuing to support Dr. Huff in his leadership at Elkhart Community Schools.
