The Elkhart Promise: Every student is known by name, challenged and supported by highly effective staff, and in partnership with the community, will graduate career/college ready and life ready.

Every day Elkhart Community Schools strives to live up to our promise that “every student is known by name.” This means that we know students' talents and skills, and we take them from where they are now to new heights with challenge as well as support. As a Professional Learning Communities school district, we look at state standards and capitalize off our teachers’ professional judgment and skill to best determine what students need to know and how to help them learn it. We regularly evaluate student academic performance and provide the interventions and enrichment to help them grow. We offer a full array of academic programs for all students, including those with special needs students, those needing alternative placements, as well as those who demonstrate high ability or giftedness. Student interests beyond the classroom find a home in a rich assortment of athletic, music, theater, and afterschool activities. Our goal is for the entire school system -- parents and families, administrators, teachers and support staff, and community partners from Elkhart and Bristol -- to build up all students to fulfill their individual promise.
